Tightening treatments work on the structural support beneath the surface. Resurfacing works on the surface itself. Patients who ask for one when they need the other are the most common source of disappointment in facial aesthetics.
Forma is non-invasive radiofrequency and does not resurface. MultiFrax resurfaces and does not tighten structurally. Morpheus8 sits between them, delivering radiofrequency at depth through fine needles.
Living with Central Texas sun
Austin's UV exposure influences almost every decision we make about laser and resurfacing timing. Recent sun, active tanning and certain medications all change how skin responds, and pigment can worsen when treatment is too aggressive too soon.
Expect an honest conversation about seasonality, preparation and daily photoprotection as part of your plan rather than a note at the end of your visit.
Anti-aging treatments, and which one you actually need
When patients ask about anti-aging treatment, they usually mean one of three separate things: skin that has lost firmness, skin whose surface has changed in texture or tone, or lines that come with expression. Those are different problems, and grouping them under one label is why so many plans miss.
Firmness and laxity point toward radiofrequency tightening — Forma non-invasively, or Morpheus8 for radiofrequency delivered at depth. Surface texture, fine lines and sun-related change point toward resurfacing with MultiFrax. Movement lines are an injectable conversation. Pigment is its own category again. Most plans here combine two of these across separate visits rather than relying on one.
You do not need to know which category you are in before you come. That is what the assessment is for, and part of a useful consultation is being told which treatments will not help you.
